About Behbud:

Behbud Association Karachi, is a not-for-profit organization has been working since 1970 to uplift and empower residents of marginalized communities by providing quality and low cost education, health services and vocational training for income generation. It is run by a group of volunteer women whose aim is to empower underprivileged women and children. The dedication of the volunteers and the support of our generous donors enable Behbud to impact nearly 200,000 beneficiaries annually.

The Behbud Model:

Behbud means welfare in Urdu. Our holistic approach to development encompassing education, health, and livelihood targets the most vulnerable segments of society and ensures overall community uplift. We believe that we can achieve our goals through the motivation, commitment, and participation of all stakeholders.

  • Quran Classes
  • A Learning Resource Center (LRC)

Healthcare:

  • 44 Weekly Clinics
  • Patients are provided quality treatment at affordable rates by specialist doctors
  • Medicines are either free or subsidized
  • Clinics include: General OPD, Skin, Eye, Pediatrics, Gynecology, Diabetes, Hypertension, Population Welfare, Child Immunizations, Counseling, TB and Dental
  • On-site X-Ray and Pathology Lab
