Teachers’ Resource Centre (TRC) is Pakistan’s pioneering teacher education institution working for the last 37 years to uplift the standards of education through professional development of teachers and education stakeholders. TRC is not-for-profit and non-political, registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, and is certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy. TRC has trained more than 60,000 teachers and education stakeholders across Pakistan. TRC developed Pakistan’s first-ever National Curriculum on Early Childhood Education (2002) and since then has been offering internationally and nationally accredited teachers’ professional development qualifications in ECE. The Level 4 ECE Diploma is endorsed by TQUK, UK’s leading awarding agency. TRC is the only Centre in Pakistan offering this qualification. The ECE diploma is also locally accredited by Sindh Teacher Education Development Authority (STEDA) and Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE), Government of Sindh. TRC has recently developed and launched Pakistan’s First Introductory Curriculum on Climate Change Education and Teachers’ Toolkit (grades 1-10), a groundbreaking initiative for long term sustainable climate solutions through engaging youth and education communities.

TRC has a scholarship fund which enables teachers from marginalized backgrounds to avail professional development opportunities and upskill themselves for enriching children’s learning experiences in classrooms and beyond. Through scholarships and Zakat support, the year-long diploma program empowers teachers to embark on a transformative journey of self-development and professional growth. The contributions of individuals/organizations/donors make this life-changing opportunity possible, equipping educators with the skills and confidence they need to inspire future generations.

TRC works with both public and private education institutions in Pakistan models across diverse geographical regions. We also regularly engage with donor agencies and the government to support the education reform process both at the policy and grassroots levels. Our primary target audience remains teachers, education management personnel, government, and students, parents and communities. Creating and promoting student centric, hands on, contextually relevant and empowering learning experiences and resources remain at the heart of program design.

In addition to capacity building and training of teachers and education leaders/managers, TRC designs and conducts quality audits, undertakes research and advocacy, develops and disseminates low cost learning resources especially for marginalized and emergency contexts and pilots education innovations for addressing the learning gaps.
