Brief Overview
Inspiring Women Pakistan (IWP) is a women-led organisation established in 2019 to address the gap between education and meaningful economic opportunities for women in Pakistan.
We work with university students, young professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and women from underserved backgrounds to build practical skills, confidence, and access to real pathways in employment, entrepreneurship, and financial independence.
Our model combines training with direct exposure to opportunities through internships, leadership programs, fellowships, entrepreneurship support, and financial literacy initiatives. We partner with universities, companies, and local organizations to ensure women can move from learning to real-world application.
We are now focused on expanding our reach to more cities and institutions, strengthening our internship and fellowship pipelines, and scaling structured entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and ambassador programs so more women can transition into sustainable livelihoods and leadership roles.
Core Programs and Services
i- Internship Program: Provides university women with workplace readiness training, mentorship, and internship placements. Connects participants with partner companies to gain practical professional experience.
ii- Ambassador Program (She Is The Change She Wants To See): A six-month leadership and community engagement program for young women across Pakistan. Participants receive training in leadership, communication, entrepreneurship, and community outreach, and conduct activities within their local communities.
iii- Fellowship Program: A remote fellowship for young women to work on self-led projects addressing issues they care about. Fellows receive mentorship, project guidance, and exposure to a diverse network of peers from Pakistan and abroad.
iv- Entrepreneurship Program (She Means Business): Supports aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs through business training, mentoring, and practical guidance on starting or growing a business.
v- Financial Inclusion Program (Invest In You): Delivers financial literacy training focused on budgeting, saving, investing, and financial planning.
What Makes Our Approach Distinct
Sustainable Partnerships for Scale: We work through universities, companies, and community partners, allowing us to scale impact while operating with a small, lean team. From Learning to Real Opportunities: We go beyond training by linking skills development with internships, mentorship, leadership roles, entrepreneurship support, and community-led projects. Innovative, Participant-Led Structure: Our fellowship and ambassador programs are designed so participants actively lead initiatives, create projects, and support peer learning. Community Ownership and Continuity: Many participants continue as ambassadors, mentors, and trainers, creating a self-sustaining network that supports future cohorts and strengthens long-term impact.
Impact Stories
Maria Anees, from Sheikhupura, wanted to start a career in IT but faced practical challenges. Most opportunities were outside her city, and the internship stipend available was not enough to cover accommodation and living expenses. She also did not have access to a suitable boarding facility near the workplace.
Through our internship program, Maria was placed at Raaziq International, Lahore. To make the opportunity feasible, we helped her find an affordable boarding option close to the office and provided additional financial support through an internal stipend to cover the gap in living costs.
With these barriers removed, Maria was able to complete her internship successfully and gain hands-on professional experience. Based on her performance, she was offered a full-time position at the company. She has now been working there for over a year, demonstrating how targeted support can help young women access and sustain career opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.
