Founded in 2005, Dar-us-Shifa Foundation is a Karachi-based, non-profit organization that stands committed to uplifting underserved communities by offering life-saving dialysis treatment and transformative educational opportunities for young girls. Our mission is rooted in compassion, dignity, and equitable access to healthcare and learning.
Every year, our Dialysis Centre provides over 12,000 treatments free of cost to patients suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), a growing global health crisis projected to be among the top five causes of death by 2040. Many arrive in hopelessness, but we offer them not only critical care, but a renewed chance at life.
In parallel, our education initiatives empower marginalized girls through free schooling, mentorship, and support, shaping confident young women ready to lead.
What We Do?
- Dialysis Centre: Our Dialysis Centre is equipped with 20 advanced dialysis machines, providing over 1,000 free treatments every month. With over 126,000 dialysis sessions completed to date, we are helping patients with CKD overcome the financial burden of life-saving treatments, enabling them to live with dignity and hope.
- Shama Home School Initiative: Through this transformative initiative, more than 2,000 girls from underserved communities have received a free education up to matriculation. We provide uniforms, learning materials, and mentorship, ensuring they complete their education in a secure and empowering environment.
- Shifa Habiba Halim School (Opening 2025): Opening its doors by the end of 2025, the Shifa Habiba Halim School will offer a tuition-free, inclusive education. We are committed to equipping girls with the academic knowledge and life skills they need to succeed, laying the groundwork for a brighter future.
- Student Sponsorship Program: Every year, we support over 250 students by covering their school fees, uniforms, books, and transportation. Our program ensures that financial barriers don’t define a child’s future, giving them the chance to succeed, no matter their circumstances.
- Community Outreach & Financial Aid: Our foundation is dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable members of society. From distributing ration bags to providing financial assistance for medical and educational emergencies, we serve as a vital safety net for those in desperate need.
