OVERVIEW OF DR. PREM KUMAR SITAL DAS MEMORIAL TRUST
Dr. Prem Kumar Sital Das Memorial Trust was established on October 25, 2021, in Islamkot, Tharparkar, to honor the memory of Dr. Prem Kumar Vankwani, who passed away in April 2021. In their deep sorrow over his untimely death, the Vankwani family chose to preserve the legacy of their late eldest brother. Dr. Prem Kumar was deeply committed to humanity and passionate about public welfare. To ensure his name lives on, the family created a Memorial Trust dedicated to serving the underprivileged members of society.
Dr. Prem Kumar Sital Das Memorial Trust is dedicated to promoting the well-being of humanity, starting in the Tharparkar region with a vision that extends nationwide. The Trust’s first major project, Prem Nagar—a model village—is currently under development in Islamkot, Tharparkar, the birthplace of Dr. Prem Kumar Vankwani, in whose honor the Trust was established. Islamkot serves as a key hub, linking Chachro, Nangarparkar, and other significant areas within the Tharparkar region. Initially, the Trust has allocated 104 acres of land to this noble endeavor, where a multi-sectorial city named “Prem Nagar” is being developed.
Prem Nagar is located about 6 KM from Islamkot on Chachro Road, near the Islamkot Airport and will soon be a beacon of progress in the region, offering a range of facilities that will greatly enhance the quality of life. This multisectorial city is set to include an SOS Childrens Village for 350 orphans, a campus of the Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences and a Modern Campus of Thar University, a paramedical and nursing college, a Thar Natural History Centre, an old age home, and a home for special children. This project will also include a public school that will accommodate over 1500 students both boys and girls from grade 1 to 12. Additionally, an Indus Hospital is also situated nearby the Prem Nagar city, offering 500 beds which will be connected with the campus of Liaquat Medical College in Prem Nagar. The city will also feature an IT Complex in collaboration with Saylani Welfare Trust, catering to the high demand for internet services.
MAJOR AIMS OF ESTABLISHMENT AS REFLECTED IN THE CHARTER
- To maintain, equip, expand and administer the affairs of the said Trust to serve Human Beings irrespective of Caste, Color, Creed or Religion.
- To undertake arrangements for Orphanages, vocational centres, campus for special children and the health and education and all sectors that are in compassed by the philanthropic activities of Children and Adults residing in the Human localities around and in the vicinity of the said Trust, Human Beings across the country.
- To acquire properties by lawful means for the expansion, uplifts and progress of the said Trust.
- To adopt, approve and prescribe curriculum for imparting education to the Children’s of the Trust
- To secure, receive endowments and subscriptions or any other immovable property or properties from all sources by lawful means and to utilize them for furthering and promoting the aim and objects of the said trust.
- To establish, found, build and assists, set up, maintain, administer and run schools, Colleges/Universities/Health Centres, Hostels, Accommodations, and alike other institutions to propagate and out of the purpose aforesaid on priority basis to acquire land for constructing and managing the same.
- To invest the funds of the Trust in any manner conductive to the achievement of the objects of the trust.
- To deal with such things as are incidental or conductive to the above mentioned aims and objectives.
