In the Year 1990, the professionals of Dhoraji memon community formed Dhoraji Youth Services Foundation (DYSF) to transform the community through Education. In the initial years, the focus was on Education, Health and Job Placement. DYSF primary purpose has always been education the youth. A lot of emphasis was laid on education to create the awareness about its importance, providing career guidance and recognizing the high performers in the academic field.
An active Patient Welfare Program was developed to help the needy patients though a net- work of partner hospitals without any discrimination of cast, creed, religion or culture. The job placement is also a regular activity.
DYSF was formerly registered in 2006 under the Societies Registration Act 1860. Alhamdollilah since 1990 there is no looking back. DYSF has expanded manifolds and there are now thousands of beneficiaries whose lives were touched in some way or other by its welfare activities.
The education program provides scholarships to over 1250 students studying from Pre- primary to the Higher studies in the Universities and Professional Institutes. More than 325 such students have completed their studies and supporting their families, community, society and the country since the inception of the scholarship program.
Every year more than 300 students are recognized at the Annual Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony as high performers. Career counselling and guidance is provided to students and parents collectively and on individual basis.
The Patient Welfare program caters to more than 2500 patients every year to get them quality care at the leading hospitals.
DYSF in now also providing Economic Assistance in shape of grants to poor families to consolidate their existing businesses to alleviate the poverty.
DYSF also undertakes relief and rehabilitation activities in the event of natural disasters such as earth quakes, floods and heat waves etc. though providing immediately food, clothing and rehabilitation support.
Our Vision 2040 is our road map for future. A significant upcoming project is to build our own school in Gulistan-e-Johar to provide quality education to the students at affordable price including those who are on our scholarship, In Sha Allah.
