What Makes Our Approach Distinct

What makes Pakistan Legal United Society (PLUS) unique is its integrated Justice, Inclusion, and Empowerment approach. PLUS goes beyond traditional legal aid by connecting legal assistance and strategic litigation with practical solutions that improve people’s lives.

Its distinctive approach combines human rights protection, disability inclusion, women and child protection, prison rehabilitation, vocational training, employment facilitation, and livelihood support. PLUS focuses on vulnerable and marginalized communities while working closely with government institutions, courts, bar associations, civil society organizations, and communities.

By addressing both immediate legal needs and underlying social and economic barriers, PLUS promotes dignity, equality, accessibility, rehabilitation, and sustainable empowerment.

Impact Stories

  1. Accessible Banking: Achy Mian, a person with a disability affecting both hands, faced barriers opening a bank account. Following PLUS’s intervention, the bank accepted a foot-thumb impression as an alternative biometric verification method.
  2. Employment Rights: Abbas Ali was terminated due to his disability. PLUS challenged the termination through a constitutional petition, resulting in his reinstatement with back benefits.
  3. Child Protection: PLUS provided legal support in an early child marriage case, resulting in the accused’s conviction and a three-year prison sentence and fine.
