PARSA Trust was registered as NGO under Section 42 of Companies Act 2017 (Joint Stock Companies, Gujranwala). The main aim was to Eliminate Hepatitis through free / subsidized testing, medication and vaccination and to expand into a full-fledged free / subsidized hospital offering diagnostics, treatment and surgeries for under-privileged communities.
PARSA Trust is a voting member of the World Hepatitis Alliance. We have signed MOUs with Punjab Hepatitis Control Program and have partnership with various hospitals for hepatitis awareness programs.
PARSA Trust collaborated with Project ECHOTM (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes). Extension for Community Health Care Outcomes is (ECHO) is an innovative model to ensure capacity building at community and academic healthcare centers. ECHO enhances skills, work force development and practical experiences for primary care providers by de-monopolizing knowledge, advanced training and ensuring the best practices. PARSA Trust runs first ever ECHO Superhub in Pakistan since 2021. It was second ECHO Program initiated in Pakistan, that time. Using high quality plug and play videoconference technology (i-ECHO), PARSA ECHO Pakistan brings together experts from well renowned Medical Institutes of Pakistan and abroad in partnership with community-based health care providers to engage in case-based learning and disease management for communities with limited resources.
Objective of PARSA ECHO Pakistan Superhub is to train the primary care practitioners in the periphery about the management of complex diseases like Hepatitis, CKD, TB, Mental Health etc. by engaging an expert online. Patient cases are sent by primary care practitioners without disclosing patients’ identity and discussed online on fortnightly/monthly basis about the management of disease. The expert opinion/recommendations are then shared with the doctors sharing cases for better management of patients at the centers near to their home. In that case PARSA ECHO Pakistan moves knowledge, not the patients. PARSA ECHO Pakistan SuperHub has launched and completed training of 6 Hubs in Pakistan during this tenure for strengthening Project ECHO’s mission.
Under the umbrella of PARSA ECHO Pakistan PEYAM (Project ECHO Youth Ambassadors’ Movement) was initiated. Youth Ambassadors (usually from 6th grade to 12th grade) are trained about the preventive measures of any disease. Then same message is being spread in the community by Youth Ambassadors via storytelling, seminars, word of mouth and social media. Ambassadors also engage professional story tellers during big seminars at schools as well.
