Mission

Focus on eliminating illiteracy and alleviating deprivation from the country through such projects at district level. RMWO encompasses four essential elements of progress which must be addressed to help the disadvantaged through holistic approach:

  • Education
  • Health
  • Environment
  • Socio-Economic Uplift

Objective

The objective of RMWO is to set up model villages throughout the country which shall integrate all essential facilities in a well-knit mosaic to ensure positively beneficial outflow to the needy rural folk. Their main focus is on education, health and vocational training contributing above all in helping transform the rural mindset from superstitious to the rational. Additionally, benefits include a reducing rural migration to urban towns and empowerment of underprivileged rural people.

How RMWO Goals Are Accomplished:Welfare

Rashidabad comprises of a collaboration of like-minded  Organizations in Pakistan. RMWO’s objectives in various fields are met by joining hands with these experienced and credible Welfare Organizations in their own field, to set up operations in Rashidabad. The municipal facilities are provided by RMWO whereas administration is left to the Organization concerned. All operational expenditures are borne by each operating organization.

Brief History:

Rashid Memorial Welfare Organization (RMWO) was set up by a group of dedicated retired PAF officers in 1998 in memory of Flt. Lt. Rashid Ahmed Khan, who his own life trying to save thousands. With an initial donation of Rs. 25 Million by the Trustees, land was acquired gradually and then construction started as funds poured in. Their project has been quietly serving the poor and under privileged for over a decade now, enhancing its quality and capacity in the field of Education, Adult Literacy, Vocational training, Healthcare, and Female self-actualization and self-enfranchisement. RMWO has already created an ever lasting impact on the social fabric of the region. Their three schools are catering to the needs of over two thousand students and it has afforded the surrounding population with employment opportunities for over 1200 people in various positions.

Targets:

1)Education:

  • Set up an Academic Complex up to college level, along with a Professional Development Center (Teacher’s Training Center).  Estimated Cost: Rs.250 million.
  • Establish a radio station for the sole purpose of spreading education.
  • Increase the number of sponsored children.

2)Health

  • Bilquis Mushaf Medical Complex (BMMC): Optimum commissioning of BMMC General Hospital to its full capacity will mark the culmination of the basic elements of the holistic facilities at Rashidabad; and the beginning of a positive change in the large rural districts from Hyderabad to Chore and from Tando Mohammad Khan to Nawabshah.
  • Cost:   Requires nearly Rs.25 million to commission the entire hospital facilities.
  • In addition to capital expenses, RMWO requires nearly Rs.25 million annually to sustain operations.

3)Zakat:

  • General Hospital: Gynecology, Paeds, Ortho, Dialysis & General Surgery for rural zakat deserving –  Requires Rs.25 million annually.
  • Education: Support 100 destitute children/orphans. Annual expenses estimated at Rs.12 million to cover total expenses including travel, medical, boarding & messing, clothing and tuition.
  • General: Provisioning of Ration for rural families –  Requires Rs.10 million annually.

4) Social Services

  • Establish a Sarai with allied facilities for 100 escorts  who accompany patients.   Cost: Rs.20 million.
  • Construction of Home for the Physically & Mentally disadvantaged.   Cost: Rs.250 million.
