Donation Terms & Conditions

Welcome to The i-Care Fund America, Inc. (ICFA) donation platform. By using this website and making a donation, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Donation Process

  • All donations made through this website are processed by The i-Care Fund America, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) public charity in the United States.
  • ICFA partners with The i-Care Foundation in Pakistan, an independent nonprofit organization, for the disbursement of funds, due diligence of Pakistani charities, and monitoring of funded projects.
  • Funds granted to eligible Pakistani charities are disbursed through The i-Care Foundation in Pakistan, following ICFA’s compliance requirements and approval processes.

1. Donations Made Through a Fundraiser

The following terms apply specifically to donations made through a fundraiser hosted on i-Care’s platform, in addition to the general terms in this document.

  • The target amount shown on a fundraiser page is a fundraising goal and does not guarantee that the full amount will be raised. We will process your donation to the selected charity regardless of whether the fundraiser reaches its target.
  • Donations made through a fundraiser are disbursed to the selected charity according to the payout frequency chosen by the fundraiser creator at the time of fundraiser creation, either monthly or after the fundraiser expires (up to a maximum of 180 days from creation or if the creator extends the fundraiser’s duration under special circumstances). This means your donation may take longer to reach the charity than a direct donation made outside a fundraiser, and the timeline is determined by the fundraiser’s settings rather than the date of your individual donation.
  • If you select a recurring donation, once the fundraiser expires, the recurring donations will be tied to the charity marked on the fundraiser. Later instalments of your fundraiser will continue to be processed and disbursed to the same charity and may go toward a different program or project run by the charity. If you would like to change, redirect, or cancel your recurring donation in this situation, please email info@i-care-america.org.
  • The fundraiser creator does not receive, collect, withdraw, or otherwise manage any funds donated through their fundraiser. All donations are processed and disbursed directly by i-Care in accordance with its standard donation processing and disbursement procedures. The fundraiser creator is not an employee, official representative, or spokesperson of i-Care or the selected charity, and any statements or promises made by the creator outside of i-Care’s official platform terms are not binding on i-Care or the charity.
  • If a donation made through a fundraiser is reversed, disputed, refunded or charged back, the corresponding donation receipt will be cancelled and shall no longer be valid.
  • Some fundraisers are created with i-Care Pakistan marked as a default charity option, where the creator has not yet finalized which specific charity or cause the funds should support. In such cases, the fundraiser creator confirms the final recipient charity, not individual donors. i-Care will follow up with the fundraiser creator, not with individual donors, to finalize the disbursement.

2. Fund Allocation & Reallocation

  • Donations are non-refundable.
  • Reallocation Requests:
For fundraiser donations, the beneficiary charity is predetermined by the fundraiser creator and cannot be selected by the donor. Reallocation may therefore be requested only where a donation was mistakenly made to the wrong fundraiser, including through an incorrect link. Such requests must be submitted within seventy-two (72) hours of the donation by emailing info@i-care-america.org and will be handled in accordance with the applicable reallocation process.
  • Donations made to fundraiser with i-Care Pakistan as the selected charity:
For donations made through a fundraiser where the charity is marked as i-Care Pakistan (a default option), the process for confirming the final charity will be coordinated with the fundraiser creator rather than the individual donor.
  • Unutilized or Undisbursable Funds:
As per i-Care’s process, we disburse funds only after the partner charity submits a valid Fund Utilization Plan (FUP).
  • If a selected Partner Charity fails to meet i-Care’s applicable compliance requirements or if circumstances arise that prevent the funds from being disbursed as intended, the following shall apply:
    • Where the Partner Charity remains non-compliant for a continuous period of eight (8) months from the date the funds are received.

If donation above USD 500:

i-Care shall make reasonable efforts to contact the fundraiser creator using the contact information available on record to seek guidance on reallocation. If no response is received within two (2) months of such efforts, the funds may be reallocated to another partner organization pursuing a similar charitable purpose.

If donations below USD 500:

Such funds may be reallocated to another partner organization pursuing a similar charitable purpose.

  • Cessation of Partner Charity:
In the event a partner charity dissolves, becomes inactive, or otherwise ceases operations, the reallocation framework set out above shall apply.

3. Receipt Cancellation and Re-Issuance

i-Care reserves the right to cancel a donation receipt where necessary to ensure accuracy, compliance, or proper record-keeping. Receipt cancellation may occur for reasons including, but not limited to:

  • Corrections or updates requested by the donor
  • Administrative or data corrections made by i-Care
  • Payment reversals, failed payments, or chargebacks
  • Adjustments arising from compliance, audit, or regulatory review

Once a receipt has been cancelled, it is deemed void and may not be used for tax- deduction or reporting purposes.

Where applicable, and subject to verification, i-Care may issue a revised receipt with a new receipt number. The issuance of a revised receipt does not occur automatically and is dependent on the finalization of accurate and complete information.

Donors are responsible for maintaining accurate tax records and are encouraged to consult their tax advisor where a cancelled or revised receipt has already been referenced for tax or reporting purposes.

4. Zakat & Donation Guidelines

  • For donations made through a fundraiser, Zakat eligibility is determined by the eligibility status of the selected Partner Charity, as stated on the fundraiser page at the time of donation. Donors intending to give Zakat are responsible for reviewing the relevant information and ensuring the donation meets their individual religious requirements. i-Care does not provide religious or Shariah advice.

5. Vetting, Due Diligence & Compliance

i-Care Fund America (ICFA) applies a comprehensive vetting and compliance framework consistent with applicable U.S. charitable, tax, and regulatory requirements.

This framework includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verification of nonprofit status, legal registrations, and regulatory standing of recipient organizations
  • Review of governance structures, board oversight, and institutional credibility
  • Assessment of program design, implementation capacity, and oversight mechanisms
  • Evaluation of policies, controls, and practices against standards comparable to those applicable to U.S. public charities

To support this process, The i-Care Foundation (Pakistan) conducts local due diligence, charity verification, and ongoing program monitoring on ICFA’s behalf, in accordance with ICFA’s compliance and reporting requirements.

In addition, ICFA reserves the right to conduct due diligence on donors, donations, and transactions in accordance with U.S. laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements. Where required by law, or where suspicious or potentially non-compliant activity is identified, ICFA may delay, decline, suspend, or report transactions to the relevant authorities and regulators.

6. Sustainability Contribution

A 5% contribution from all donations supports ICFA’s operational, grantmaking, and compliance processes.

7. Payment Gateway & Bank Charges

  • Additional bank or payment processing fees may apply.
  • These charges are set by your financial institution or payment provider and are not retained by ICFA.

8. Donation Receipts & Tax Benefits

  • Donors receive an official U.S. tax receipt issued by ICFA after funds are credited in i-Care’s account.
  • Contributions to ICFA may be tax-deductible in the United States, subject to IRS rules and individual circumstances.

9. Right to Decline Donations

ICFA may review or decline donations at its discretion. Refunds, if applicable, may be processed depending on the situation and compliance requirements.

  • They are not on government sanctions lists such as OFAC or SDN.
  • Donations are voluntary and do not entitle the donor to goods, services, or preferential treatment.

12. ICFA’s Responsibilities

  • Issue official donation receipts
  • Conduct compliance checks and due diligence
  • Disburse funds once all required documentation is complete

As part of this process, The i-Care Foundation in Pakistan assists ICFA with:
