NIBD Welfare Society supports and funds blood cancer and blood disease curative treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bone marrow transplants for both children and adult patients. By bridging urgent medical needs and financial hardship, we ensure patients who cannot afford treatment are given a genuine chance at survival.
The Problem:
§ Due to severe financial and infrastructure constraints, thousands remain on waiting lists, denied access to critical treatment.
§ Treatment costs range from PKR 3.5–7 million ($12,500–25,000), unaffordable for most families.
§ Survival rates drop sharply without timely intervention.
§ Approximately 5,000–9,000 new cases of beta-thalassemia major are diagnosed annually, translating to about 417–750 new cases per month, each potentially requiring a life-saving BMT. Existing financial and infrastructure constraints mean many individuals remain on waiting lists.
Early hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) can improve survival outcomes, offering 1-year survival of 60–90% and long-term disease-free survival exceeding 75% with well-matched donors.

What We Aim to Achieve:
§ Support 50 life-saving Bone Marrow Transplants.
§ Fund supportive care (blood transfusions, medications) for 100 children, young adults, and women.
§ Cover essential diagnostic tests for 60 individuals to facilitate timely treatment.
Target Beneficiaries:
§ Children, young adults and women with Beta Thalassemia Major, Hemophilia, and other blood disorders.
§ Families unable to afford life-saving treatment.
§ Total direct beneficiaries: 210 patients.
