Donation Goal: $20,000
Network of Organizations Working for People with Disabilities, Pakistan (NOWPDP) is a nonprofit committed to advancing the rights and opportunities of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across Pakistan. We cater to all types of disabilities, and over the past 17 years, we have impacted the lives of 500,000 individuals through initiatives in welfare, healthcare, education, skills development, and economic empowerment.
This year’s monsoon has brought unprecedented devastation. As of 4th September, 884 people have lost their lives, 1,176 have been injured (NDMA, 2025), and more than 2 million displaced (ECHO, 2025). 16% of the world population lives with a significant disability (WHO, 2023), which translates to approximately 320,000 individuals with disabilities directly affected by the floods in Pakistan.
In a disaster of this scale, the challenges faced by PWDs multiply significantly. Evacuating rising waters becomes an overwhelming barrier when mobility is limited. Receiving life-saving information is more difficult when disaster communication methods are not accessible. Navigating through submerged streets, temporary shelters, or ration lines without adequate support places families at heightened risk. A crisis for many becomes a compounded struggle for those already living with systemic barriers.
To respond to this urgent challenge, NOWPDP is providing a comprehensive flood relief package for PWDs and their families, with an immediate target of reaching 100 families. Each relief package includes:
Hygiene kit: $20
Ration for a family of five (for 1 month): $55
Wheelchair: $110
Total cost for one relief package: $185
Your support can ensure that families with PWDs are not left behind in this emergency. Together, we can deliver targeted relief to those who face the greatest risk of exclusion and uphold the resilience of communities across Pakistan.
