Vital Pakistan Trust started its ten-year journey from Rehri Goth, an impoverished and neglected peri-urban community of over 60,000 residents on the outskirts of Karachi, Pakistan. Through baseline surveys conducted in the community in 2012 and 2013, we learned that Rehri Goth had a neonatal mortality of 57 deaths per thousand live births and an under-5 mortality of 107 deaths per thousand live births. Vital Pakistan Trust’s journey to help the most marginalized women and children living in the urban slums in over 45 sites across Karachi, providing free, quality healthcare services to mothers and children who need it the most.
Our country lacks adequate diagnostic and treatment facilities, and quality care is inaccessible to most. With better access, deaths can be reduced significantly, and mothers and young babies can have a chance to lead healthy, normal lives. Vital Pakistan Trust (VPT) is positioned uniquely in its quality of care, with highly trained staff and fully equipped clinics.
Up until September 2023, Vital Pakistan Trust has provided free medical care to 45,000 women and 65,000 children, delivered 19,500 babies, and provided immunizations to over 155,000 children. All these services were provided free of cost and have been made possible because of sponsor support from people like you.
